Coffee Beans and White Mug

We love its rich taste, warm aroma and the energizing boost it offers us every morning— coffee. But, we think it’s time for us to consider swapping the morning coffee with healthier caffeine alternatives. As much as we love coffee, the excessive caffeine intake can lead to an increased heart rate, disturbed sleep, and even addiction. Therefore, we think it’s a good idea to explore some equally delicious and healthful substitutes. Trust us, you’d like these just as much.

First up, we have Matcha tea. Lately we’ve seen girls raving about it on the internet and for good reason. It’s popularly known to be from Japan. Now, we understand that letting go of coffee can be tough, but Matcha might just ease this transition for us. This tea is not only rich in antioxidants, but also has the perfect energy boost we need minus the jitteriness of coffee. Also, it’s a very pretty drink that looks cute in any container.

Next, we use green tea as an alternative. The amazing fact about green tea is that it offers a decent caffeine hit without being too intense. In addition, it contains catechins, antioxidants known for increasing the immune system.

Our third alternative is Yerba Mate. It’s not as popular as matcha and green tea but it has a blend of a strong flavor and a stimulating effect that’s quite similar to coffee. Additionally, it contains a bunch of nutrients like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

And for those of us who prefer a spicy drink, we have Chai tea. It’s warm, good, and full of spices like cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Although the caffeine content is less than the others we’ve mentioned, it gives us just the right amount of caffeine needed to pursue our day.

Then there’s Kombucha, it’s the fizzy fermented tea that has gained a lot of mainstream attention lately, especially on Tiktok. It’s known to have a lot of health benefits. Probiotics help with keeping our gut healthy. Also, it’s slightly sweet and tangy so if you’re up for an exciting flavor, this would be refreshing.

Lastly, for those who can’t give up that coffee flavor, we understand the struggle so we suggest trying Chicory Root. It’s an amazing coffee lookalike with a similar flavor. However, it has zero caffeine. But on the bright side, it’s a beneficial fiber that aids digestion and supports a healthy gut.

We think that you should give these healthy caffeine alternatives a try. We can continue enjoying our energy boosters while taking better care of our bodies and in moderation.
