I’m sitting here with my morning cup of coffee, dreaming of exotic lands, delicious new foods to taste, stunning sunsets to witness, imagining how to set up my tripod for the perfect picture…and then reality sets in. The visa process.
Honestly, the thought is so exhausting that I might consider a staycation…again!
But listen, girls. As 2023 draws to an end, our passports deserve to catch some sun and foreign ink, don’t you think? We can’t keep escaping to the world of our favorite TV shows while we could be out there making our own movie—a montage of all the videos and pictures we’d capture.
Well, we decided to do our research. Here are our next vacation spots– Countries where a visa is a gentle knock on arrival or completely non-existent. And yes, we’ve considered everyone because our family extends across continents; African, European, American – there’s something for us all.
First on our list – Seychelles. Imagine my shock when we found out that this piece of paradise doesn’t require a visa at all. All we have to do is pack our bikinis, because the crystal clear waters and beaches await us.
Then we have Ghana. If it’s good enough for all those celebrities who flocked to Accra last year, then it’s definitely on our must-see list too. All we have to do is prepare our itinerary and show up.
Our next stop? Fiji. We’re thinking about the picture-perfect landscapes, culture, and snorkeling activities that will have us taking in all that marine life. It’s almost too good to be true.
We’ve all dreamt of sipping a cocktail on an island, doing absolutely nothing but sunbathing (with our SPF on of course) and living our best life, at least once. Barbados and Mauritius are calling our names and the fact that we can answer with only our passport in hand, is something I’m grateful for.
The great thing about all these countries is the diversity of it all. So while we have the tropicals and one of the afrobeats nightlife capitals on our list, we also have the Dominican Republic offering us historical sights, the perfect backdrop for those Instagram posts, and the chance to dance merengue with locals. Plus Cambodia, where we could visit serene temples to meditate before meeting the chaotic city life and everything in between.
Last, but by no means least, the Maldives. Do we really have to say much? It’s like a vacation out of a luxury travel magazine that you’d typically dream about while on your staycation.
Keep in mind that these are the only amazing countries out there. But they’re certainly the ones that want us to stress less about paperwork and focus more on packing the right outfits for our itinerary. Now, we won’t forget to remind you to research any extra policies that may be unique to the passport you own such as entry conditions like COVID restrictions and the likes.
So go check those flight deals, and let’s end 2023 with some great memories!
