And just like that we’re in the second quarter of the year. We all know how a year can sometimes feel like a marathon – starting with high hopes and then feeling a bit lost as the quarters go by. It can be hard to stay motivated. So, how do we keep that spark of motivation alive through every season? Let’s talk about it.
First off, we’ve learnt the importance and effect of positive self-talk. To us, it’s simply the act of being your own cheerleader, and we think it makes a big difference. When we wake up in the morning or are about to take on a task, simple or challenging, we believe that reminding ourselves that we can actually do it, sets the tone for our day. This is the part of our day when we whip out our journals or notes to say our positive affirmations and believe every word because it’s true.
Here’s something else that we’ve found very helpful – at the end of each quarter, we like to take some time to evaluate and rewrite goals. Evaluating goals is like checking in on the health of your skin. Those products might just not be working out the way we thought it would. Maybe we need to readjust our hydration goals and add a few more bottles of water.
At the end of every quarter, you can take a moment to reflect on what’s been working and what hasn’t. It’s okay to admit that some goals just aren’t fitting right anymore. There’s nothing wrong with changing it. And when we rewrite our goals, we make sure to share them with our circle. You know, the ones who cheer us on without any ‘buts’ or doubts.
Having people to hold us accountable is so important. And we say this with love, you can’t get upset when they check in on our progress. They’re just doing their part in helping us achieve our goals and stay motivated at it.
Another thing we do that helps us stay motivated is keeping our goals in view. Literally. You could stick them up on your mirror, your board, or even as your phone’s wallpaper. Every glance is a gentle reminder of what we’re aiming for. This way it’s always in our faces, telling us to take small steps every day towards our goals. And no matter how small, progress is progress, right? Keep in mind that every little effort adds up and before we know it, we’re closer to our goals than ever.
Like we all know by now, life is not a smooth ride. Rejections and failures might happen to us even when we least expect them. But remember, it’s not your sign to quit. Every ‘no’ is just another step closer to a ‘yes.’ Yes, we sound like a preacher but it’s simply true. Just keep going, regardless.
And on the days when things just don’t seem to go our way, let’s not be too hard on ourselves. No pressure. It’s perfectly okay to have off days. What’s important is giving ourselves a bit of grace while staying true to our commitment. It’s a delicate balance, but we trust you to know when it’s time to pick up the pace.
Remember, this journey is yours, and it’s unique. Please celebrate every win, every leap, and even the failures. We’re all in this together, after all.
